My name is Vincent Tang but everyone calls me Vinny and I’m a Professional Makeup Artist & Hair Stylist.
After graduating from York University with an Honours Bachelor of Arts and a Certificate from the Schulich School of Business, I enrolled into the Yorkville School of Makeup & Esthetics affiliated with George Brown College and obtained a Beauty Certificate.
During that time, I started out as a Demo Artist and Trainer for companies like Estée Lauder, Girlactik, Laura Mercier, Make Up For Ever, Stila, and Yves Saint Laurent. My experience also comes from MAC Cosmetics, having worked for them as a Certified Artist, VIVA GLAM Ambassador, and in Management.
Since 2010, under the approval of the Ontario Ministry of Training for Colleges & Universities, I work as a Consulting Instructor, designing and teaching Makeup Artistry & Cosmetology Courses at various Private Career Colleges. Outside of the classroom, I’m a self-represented artist actively managing various freelance work in Beauty for both Makeup & Hair and have started to explore an interest in Photography. At the 2012 Allied Beauty Association in Toronto, I won 1st Place for the Elegant Evening Makeup Competition Live. Thereafter, I was selected by Messe Düsseldorf, one of the world’s largest trade fair organizations, to represent Canada in the International Make-up Championships in Düsseldorf, Germany 2013 where I placed 8th.
In order to stay educated and updated on the latest trends, I attend as many National and International trade shows as possible and sit in on Learning Seminars from industry leaders such as Eve Pearl, Gordon J. Smith, Josh Turi, Kabuki, Kevin James Bennett, Lan Nguyen, ORIBE, and Roshar. In addition, I regularly participate in Private Product Screenings and Advanced Preparation Courses by top cosmetic companies and enjoy conducting my own research.
I’m a strong believer in Formal Education, Proper Training, and Continual Practice in order to remain Active, Competitive, and Innovative in this industry. I truly love what I do and want to welcome you to my World of Beauty that isn’t so superficial or focused on vanity. Rather, it’s about taking the time to present your best ‘Self’ to others as a way of showing Confidence, Respect, and above all, Your True Inner Beauty.
